Pre-Purchase Survey

The pre-purchase marine survey report is specifically prepared to provide a clear and true assessment of a vessel. It consists of a detailed breakdown inferring recommendations made by the marine surveyor.  These recommendations are graded as being essential, recommended or advisory as according to the USCG, CFR and other regulatory agencies.  Haul-outs are common with this type of survey and might be needed to coincide with the scheduled survey time. Daily tides for launch ramp and/or lift capabilities in your local harbor/marina worth looking into to.

 

Insurance Survey

A marine insurance survey is generally specific to the needs/wants of an insurance agencies request for a vessel survey.  Usually for a specific reason/repair/annual and is typically more broad in comparison but also comprehensive.   If you are in need of an insurance survey, please contact them for the specifics that they require for the survey (haul-outs, stability tests etc.).  Shoreside and launch arrangements might need to be made prior/during the survey that will need coordination.

Post modification survey

Any time you repower or add/modify something significant to your boat you should have it re-surveyed.  This way, in an unfortunate event of an incident your latest hard work can be recouped by insurance.  Additionally, some surveys are to be conducted for specific purposes for the wants and needs of changing /updating regulations or modifications for specific tasks. Please make sure you are aware of the specifics for the need of the survey when you make the call.
